John Reilly joined Axcelus Financial (formerly Lombard International) in January 2004 and is Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary. Mr. Reilly is responsible for all U.S. legal matters as well as overseeing the legal affairs of Axcelus Financial’s Bermuda insurance companies.

Prior to becoming the company’s General Counsel in 2018, Mr. Reilly was the lead securities and investment management lawyer for Lombard International’s U.S. and Bermuda operations and was responsible for the legal review and negotiation of the company’s participation in alternative investments, private investment vehicles and investment management relationships with third-party asset management organizations.

Before joining the company in 2004, Mr. Reilly maintained a private law practice specializing in corporate, real estate and securities law with firms in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.

Mr. Reilly received a J.D. from the Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and a B.A. from Villanova University.
