Nicholas Kabcenell - Board Member
Nicholas Kabcenell has had a more than 20-year career in private equity and credit primarily focused on European markets. Most recently, Nicholas has co-managed two mezzanine and minority private equity funds originally established by Franklin Templeton/Darby. Previously, Nicholas worked in a similar capacity for Allianz Insurance/Dresdner Bank in Central Europe. Currently, Nicholas serves as an advisor to Patrimonium Asset Management, a Zurich based alternative asset manager.

Nicholas began his career at a corporate lawyer at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York, before transferring to the firm’s Budapest, Hungary office where Nicholas played a significant role in advising on Hungary’s early privatization efforts. After practicing law, Nicholas joined Creditanstalt Investment Bank, which was the leading merchant bank in Hungary, where he focused on M&A advisory. In 1997, Nicholas returned to the U.S. where he led an international bank’s U.S. private markets and securities businesses. Nicholas has also worked in London, U.K. in investment banking and the telecommunications industries.

A native of New York City, Nicholas has a B.A. from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. Nicholas also serves on a number of non-profit boards of directors, including the Fulbright Foundation in Hungary and the Serious Fun Network.
